On Friday 10 April 2026, our Y3 students showcased their enthusiasm for science during an outreach event at Glasgow Science Centre (GSC), where they delivered interactive demonstrations to members of the public throughout the day.

In the weeks leading up to the event, the students attended a preparatory workshop at GSC in February. During this session, they divided into three working groups and selected the science topics they wished to present. With helpful guidance from the GSC team, each group went on to design demonstrations that communicated scientific ideas in a clear, accessible, and enjoyable way.

The groups and their chosen themes were:

  • White Light Splitting – Satyendra, Shiju, and Zaka
  • What Reflects? – Andrew, Brandon, Hamish, Sean, and Valeria
  • What Makes Colour? – Mateusz, Rajan, and Will

Using hands‑on activities, the students confidently engaged visitors of all ages, encouraging curiosity and discussion around light, reflection, and colour. Their clear explanations and enthusiasm helped create an enjoyable learning experience for everyone who took part.

Well done to all the students for their excellent teamwork, preparation, and professionalism in representing the programme at such a prominent public venue.
